Garibaldis!!! The last supper...

So me and my dear friends went here. Given their heritage you don't have to just take my word for it on this one. This is Mexican Food at its finest! First Micheladas!!! Beer with a mixture of hot sauce, lime juice, worcestershire sauce, and possible maggi. I'll update this with a recipe in a bit. Then there is a salty red pepper flake rim. Delicious!!!!! Okay then instead of chips and salsa you can get nachos, beans, cheese, salsa etc!! Then, I had Huaraches con chorizo and a Barbacoa Burrito (Barbacoa - Goat). Ruthie had Pozole which would have been my next option...Soup with toppings pork and hominy. Served with a tostada on the side. Yurixi had similar to me! Ristorante Garibaldis - Atwells Avenue, Providence, RI

Fat Belly's - Main Street East Greenwich, RI

I am going to bore you first with some food from home! If your close for heaven's sake...Get out there and try some of it! This is my place. They start pouring my Harpoon IPA when they see me coming! They have another EG location and are now in Wakefield! They are trying to take over the world for sure! This is my "usual"...Big Papi burger RARE - You have to be clear about that - and truffle fries. They don't have the truffle fries at the other EG location sooooo you have to go to Main Street. If you like burgers this place is great! Huge TV's playing Red Sox. Sal is a Yankee Fan...As Yankee fans go though...Probably the nicest one you will ever meet;) Angela is camera shy which is why I don't have a pic but she is the BEST bartender ever!!! And probably the coolest person in the world! Miss you guys!

With the good...comes the bad...

Been having an amazing time connecting with folks before my departure. Some of them are a good way to point out what those of you from New England are missing...or in this case NOT missing. Turtle Soup in Narragansett. Gorgeous views amazing breeze and the smell of salt water! I am sick and tired of places getting away with garbage food for a ridiculous price! I mean really. This food was awful! Started with a pork egg roll that reminded me of a Cambodian spring roll we served when I was the chef at Jackie's. Filled with pork, sweet potato and taro root and a chili sauce you will have no trouble finding in the jar at your local market. I had the seafood pasta with mussels (that were hairy, yuck) and littleneck clams and a couple of shrimp and scallops (feet attached). The sauce was watery, pasta overcooked and topped with feta Especially if your by the bay, seafood needs to be cleaned and cooked properly...bottom line. My friend had the tomato basil gnocchi. imagine chewing on balls of raw dough. I tasted a half and she could barely get three down. Drinks were good, service okay, view spectacular... They should make it a bar and stick with the drinks...

The Greatest Ever! BURGER

Without question one of the world's perfect foods...If done correctly... Since I have been clearing out my phone of pics and old computers with pics I feel compelled to share what food opinion I already have... This burger, known as a "Double Double Animal Style" from In n' Out Burger, is without question the greatest burger ever. Could be a contender in the 4 B's (Burgers, Beer, Barefoot, Beach)wedding that I may or may not ever have down the road...lol...WAY down the road;) The #1 is a Double Double. You have to know to ask for it Animal Style (as usual). Burger, pickles, sauce, onions, love and tender care...If you are near one you must try!!! DO AS I SAY:)

Departure date is drawing near...

It's been a while a very long while...I leave this Sunday and have been busy tying up loose ends, saying good bye to old friends, and hello goodbye to new friends... It's all good. Amidst all the crazy the one peace is getting on the plane on Sunday. I'm forever reminded of how great life is and how wonderfully it appears to be served on a silver platter to me. Thank God for all of his graces and may he be with me on this amazing journey...known as "Life"...
